American Express is looking for a Financial Analyst to join the Global Treasury Controllership (GTC) team in Gurgaon. This is a great opportunity for finance professionals to contribute to critical global treasury and regulatory reporting for a Fortune 500 company. The analyst will work closely with various stakeholders, prepare and analyze regulatory filings, support automation efforts, and drive insights for senior leadership.

Role Purpose:

The Financial Analyst will assist with quarterly/annual consolidated financial statement filings, ensure timely SEC, FED, and LE reporting, and support process efficiencies for treasury transactions across cash, debt, equity, derivatives, and investments. The role combines analytics, compliance, and process improvement, with plenty of growth and learning opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support quarterly/annual SEC and statutory financial statement filings for American Express and its subsidiaries.
• Prepare and analyze data for regulatory reports, cash flow, and management discussion/analysis (MD&A).
• Partner with business units to monitor results and their impact on liquidity ratios.
• Ensure compliance with SOX, BHC regulations, and robust internal controls.
• Support process automation, dashboard creation, data analytics, and audit queries.
• Collaborate on internal business initiatives and contribute to continuous improvement.

Key Technical Skills:

US GAAP (financial instruments), Microsoft Excel (advanced), MS PowerPoint/Word, Power BI, Tableau, Oracle, Essbase, Data analytics, Knowledge of AI tools (ChatGPT etc.)

Requirements:

• CA/CPA/MBA (Finance) or equivalent
• 0–3 years’ experience in finance and reporting
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Advanced MS Office proficiency (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
• Knowledge of modern BI/dashboard tools (Power BI, Tableau—advantage)
• Strong attention to detail, ability to handle large datasets, and process improvement mindset
